Osborne Ridge is a small, gated residential community set on more than 250 acres of historic wooded ridges, springs, and open pasture in Jackson Township, Greene County.
Only a limited number of homesites will ever be created. The rest of the land remains private sanctuary. The result is genuine seclusion, shared trails and amenities, and room to build a lasting family place without the noise of denser development.
Rooted in early Indiana…
In the early 1800s, pioneer families including the Osbornes and Stalcups settled this part of Greene County. Around 1831, while hunting ginseng, members of the Osborne family discovered a strong mineral spring rising from the limestone. The spring quickly became a local landmark and gathering place.
Nearby, the small community of Dresden grew along the Bloomfield-Owensburg Road. The Monon Railroad later pushed through the area, carving the difficult Tunnel Hill tunnel between Owensburg and Dresden. The unsuspecting landscape still carries the marks of that era: old roads, family cemeteries, and the same spring that first drew settlers.
Today Osborne Ridge carefully reuses that historic ground. The spring and surrounding woods are protected. Private roads follow the old routes. The community is deliberately kept small so the character of the land remains intact.
