A Private Deed-Restricted Community

Rooted in Pioneer Faith

In the early 1800s, brave Christian pioneers from North Carolina made a courageous decision. They left behind growing political tensions and slavery debates, choosing instead to walk faithfully in God’s path.

The Osborne and Stalcup families headed west into the untamed wilderness that would become Greene County, Indiana. They were among the very first settlers, carving out a new life among rolling hills and dense forests.

One of the earliest cabins was built beside a clear, bubbling spring that flowed from a limestone fissure — soon known as Osborne Spring.

In 1831, young John Osborne discovered this very spring while hunting ginseng. The family built their home nearby, raised a large, faith-filled family, and became respected pillars of the early community. Through hard work, deep Christian conviction, and commitment to family and freedom, they helped lay the foundation for Greene County.

Today, nearly 200 years later, we are resurrecting this historic land with the same heart and purpose.

The Preserve at Osborne Ridge honors the Osborne family’s legacy by preserving the natural beauty of the 252-acre property and creating a private, gated Christian covenant community where faith remains at the center of daily life.

Here, modern families can live much like those early pioneers — simply, intentionally, and with Christ as the foundation. Large wooded lots, private amenities, and strong covenants ensure that future generations can grow up surrounded by like-minded believers, rooted in biblical truth, and free to build a lasting legacy.
